About The Position

The Part-Time Respite Provider for Adolescent-Age Child with Disabilities is responsible for offering essential support to children with disabilities and their families. Requirements

• Experience working with children with disabilities (3 years preferred).
• Knowledge of disability-related care techniques and strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children with disabilities.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of each child.

Nice To Haves

• High school or equivalent education (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care, companionship, and emotional support to children with disabilities.
• Develop age-appropriate and disability-specific activities and play routines to engage and stimulate the child's cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
• Ensure the safety of the child at all times, proactively identifying potential risks and taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Maintain open and effective communication with the child's primary caregivers, therapists, and healthcare providers to ensure consistency in care and treatment plans.
• Work with families to schedule respite care sessions at convenient times while meeting the child's needs.
• Encourage and facilitate the child's participation in community activities to promote socialization and inclusion.
