Requirements

  • Teaching-caregiving experience at early childhood, preschool or elementary level preferred
  • Must pass Ohio BCI&I and FBI background checks
  • Ability to work effectively with adults and children
  • Willingness to attend training in food handling, child abuse recognition, CPR, first aid, and management of communicable disease
  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
  • High school diploma or equivalent, BA or AA in early childhood education or related field

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting each child’s social and emotional development
  • Establishing positive and effective family relations
  • Working with the classroom teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas
  • Prepare morning and afternoon snacks for all classrooms
  • Ensure all food items are checked for expiration dates
  • Organize and put away all groceries, food orders, and non-food items
  • Safely transport children to and from school and on routine trips, following all safety and supervision procedures
