About The Position

The Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant. The role involves contributing to research projects outlined and agreed upon with the research advisor, including but not limited to desktop studies of material flows in electronic waste recycling and management, battery waste recycling and management, and preliminary research on energy balances of different recycling routes pegged against primary minerals. The assistant will check with the research advisor at the beginning of each week about specific activities and support some desktop literature review of metal supply chains as needed by the advisor.

Requirements

• Must be a current Penn State employee or student, or an external applicant.
• Successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research projects outlined and agreed upon with the research advisor.
• Conduct desktop study of material flows in electronic waste recycling and management.
