The Food Science Department within the College of Agricultural Sciences is looking to fill a research assistant position available in the laboratory of Dr. Edward Dudley. The candidate will work on independent and collaborative projects that use molecular biology and genomics methods to further understand foodborne pathogens. Responsibilities also include curating strains deposited within the E. coli Reference Center. The Dudley group is one of several labs in the Department of Food Science applying tools of molecular biology and genomics in food safety research. Penn State has excellent core facilities including genomics, proteomics, mass spectrometry, and metabolomics, and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences maintains a campus-wide culture of excellence in microbiology, genomics, and microbiome research.
