The Food Science Department within the College of Agricultural Science has a 20-hour per week position available for an advanced graduate student with background in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The candidate will conduct research activities with focus on determining the loading capacity of three active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in casein-based powders, and the instant properties of these powders when dispersed in water. The goal is to elucidate the environmental stimuli conducive to the formation of casein-based amorphous solid dispersions yielding (1) high API-to-casein ratio, and (2) excellent instant properties. These research activities are following the objectives of the project entitled “Milk Protein-Based Amorphous Solid Dispersion for Delivery of Hydrophobic APIs”.
