The Food Science Department is seeking a part-time research assistant in Dr. Zhang's lab to help with the following: Conduct experiments in food protein characterization and quality evaluation Plan, set up, and perform laboratory experiments to characterize food proteins and assess product quality attributes such as allergenicity. Prepare buffers, reagents, standards, and samples; perform routine sample processing steps. Operate and maintain relevant laboratory instruments, such as spectrophotometers, plate readers, pH meters, centrifuges. Follow established SOPs and good laboratory practices. Collect, manage, and analyze data Record experimental procedures and observations. Conduct routine statistical analyses as needed (e.g., summary statistics, t-tests/ANOVA) and generate plots, tables, and concise summaries. Interpret results in the context of experimental objectives,. Order and purchase research supplies and materials Prepare purchase requests, obtain quotations when required,. Track orders, confirm receipt, inspect shipments for accuracy and condition. Maintain documentation for purchases.
