The Dairy Nutrition Research Laboratory of Dr. Alex Hristov is seeking a qualified professional to fill a part-time research support position. Duties of this position include weighing cattle refusal feed, collecting feed samples, and assisting graduate students in their research trials with other sample collection (fecal, urine, blood, rumen contents, etc.). Experience with cattle or other livestock is preferred, however not necessary. Assistants will be responsible for assisting with sample processing in the lab such as drying samples, grinding samples using a Wiley Mill, weighing samples, and after training, help running various sample analyses. General care and cleaning of the lab and research areas is also expected. Individuals need to be detail-oriented, motivated, and capable of working independently. Hours are flexible (up to 24 hours/week). Furthermore, sampling can take place at all hours of the day and night and assistants are expected to assist where possible.
