About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field (Required)
• At least one (1) year of classroom experience with a "Proficient" or "Distinguished" Danielson rating
• Experience preparing students for NYS Regents exams and success within diverse or urban school settings

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree (Preferred)
• New York State Teaching Certification in Mathematics (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Execute intensive, Regents-aligned math lessons, breaking down complex theorems and formulas into digestible strategies while focusing on closing achievement gaps.
• Administer and grade practice Regents exams and formative assessments to track student growth and identify "power standards" for remediation.
• Facilitate interactive problem-solving sessions using SMART Board technology and student laptops to visualize geometric proofs and algebraic functions.
• Lead small-group "data-analysis" sessions to provide individualized support to students performing below the passing threshold.
