About The Position

The City of Wylie is seeking a Part Time Recreation Monitor for its award-winning recreation center. This role involves ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for guests on the fitness floor by providing excellent customer service, supervising activities, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with programs and special events. The Recreation Monitor will work closely with other staff and report to the Guest Services Specialist and Recreation Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in recreational programs preferred.
• Valid Driver's License; must obtain Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within six months of hire.
• Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor open play areas and ensure rules are followed.
• Maintain a record of the number of guests in the facility.
• Assist guests during trips and outings, ensuring safety and organization.
• Lead organized activities and provide instruction to guests.
• Perform guest supervision and address inquiries.
• Conduct maintenance and cleaning of the facility and equipment.
• Administer waivers and manage administrative duties.
• Oversee special events and assist in planning and decoration.
• Provide customer service and engage in conflict resolution.
• Participate in staff training and meetings.
