About The Position

The City of Nacogdoches is hiring a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to help support our recreational activities. This position involves routine clerical, maintenance, customer service and recreational tasks. The assistant will manage gymnasiums and outdoor athletic facilities, supporting officials for youth and adult sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer and futsal.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED (experience in recreational activities preferred).
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Must be able to work irregular hours, including Saturdays and sometimes Sundays.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of sports such as soccer, volleyball and basketball is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the public and city employees.
• Register participants and provide program information.
• Open close and enforce rules at the facility.
• Set up and inspect equipment for activities and events.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of recreational supplies and the center.
