The Office Clerk/Receptionist position at Anderson County School District Five is a part-time role designed to support the school and facilitate effective communication with the public. In this role, the Office Clerk/Receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming telephone calls, determining the purpose of the calls, and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel or department. The individual will also maintain visitor sign-in/out rosters, distribute visitor passes, and assist parents in locating students for sign-outs. Additionally, the position requires directing students during early dismissals and appointments, maintaining documentation of early releases, and collaborating with teachers to ensure class coverage in the absence of substitute teachers. The Office Clerk/Receptionist will perform various clerical duties, including maintaining office equipment, assisting with new student enrollments, making daily announcements, and maintaining records for student attendance. The individual will also be responsible for checking emails frequently and responding or forwarding them as necessary, as well as receiving, sorting, and routing mail. The role may also involve assisting with fire drills and maintaining awareness of teachers' locations throughout the day. This position is evaluated annually by the Principal and is expected to work 5 hours per day for a total of 180 days, with a pay rate of $12 per hour. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates who have at least two years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience, and while no specific licenses or certifications are required, knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to operate basic office equipment and software applications are essential.
