Job Description Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or due to volume of applications received. Assist Motorcycle Rider Coaches by moving, gassing, inspecting, and making minor repairs to motorcycles, setting range exercises, and riding demonstrations of exercises under the direction of a Certified Licensed Rider Coach and in accordance with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s (MSF) curriculum and professional standards, Nevada Rider’s and College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) policies and procedures. Conduct pre-use inspections of motorcycles used in the BRC and IMU classes For CSN-provided motorcycles: correct issues noted in these inspections, for example, inflate tires to proper levels, add oil if needed and replace broken or bent levers, or make issues found known to the Rider Coach and/or the Motorcycle Safety Specialist. Fuel CSN provided motorcycles Range aids are expected to learn the processes necessary to prepare motorcycles for classes, range markings to set the range exercises, and the proper methods and patterns for riding exercise static and riding demonstrations The experienced Range aid may assist Rider coach with checking student paperwork although they may not sign any formal reports All Range aids are expected to conduct themselves according to MSF’s, Nevada Rider’s, and CSN’s professional standards. Range aids will not provide guidance or coaching to students during range activities Classes are conducted outside year around Range aids must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours, carry or lift 5-gallon safety cans (approximately 50 pounds) from ground level to 42 inches in height and hold the same for at least 5 minutes, move 400-pound motorcycles from storage to range and pick up and place 3, 12 and 36-inch cones.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain or have a current first aid and CPR certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain M endorsement on a Nevada Driver's license.

  • Teaching experience or ability to speak in public.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Motorcycle Rider Coaches by moving, gassing, inspecting, and making minor repairs to motorcycles.

  • Fuel CSN provided motorcycles.
  • Learn the processes necessary to prepare motorcycles for classes and set range markings.
  • Assist Rider coach with checking student paperwork (without signing any formal reports).
  • Conduct themselves according to MSF’s, Nevada Rider’s, and CSN’s professional standards.

  • Starting Salary Range $40.00 per range day.
  • Classes are conducted at several campuses and are given on both weekdays and weekends.
  • Range aids are expected to attend at least an average of 1 class per month.
