About The Position

The Part-time Radiography Clinical Instructor at Washtenaw Community College (WCC) plays a crucial role in the clinical education of students in the Radiography Program. This position involves teaching and supervising students in both classroom and clinical settings, ensuring they meet the required competencies and standards. The instructor will also liaise with clinical sites and support student success through guidance and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Earned Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a radiographer.
  • Compliance with ARRT continuing education requirements.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Knowledge of PACS and RIS systems.
  • Ability and willingness to use technology for teaching and learning.
  • Strong leadership abilities and effective written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
  • Prepare for and instruct assigned courses using appropriate learning materials.
  • Visit clinical sites to assess students' clinical experiences.
  • Provide guidelines to staff radiographers for evaluating students' clinical skills.
  • Monitor students' clinical progress to ensure completion of required procedures and compliance with standards.
  • Assist the Clinical Coordinator in submitting final course grades on time.
  • Support student success through counseling and advising.
  • Collaborate with the Radiography Program Director and Clinical Coordinator to maintain clinical requirements.
  • Participate in Radiography Department and Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Maintain program standards according to accrediting agency guidelines.
  • Communicate positively with affiliating health care agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
