About The Position

Pacific Hospitality Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a food service staff member. In this role, you will help guests select food and beverages by presenting the menu, offering cocktails and aperitifs, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines, and answering food preparation questions. You will be responsible for entering orders into the POS system, recording guests' choices, special dietary needs, and special requests. Maintaining cleanliness in work areas and preparing dining rooms are also key responsibilities. You will ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines while providing a high-level dining experience to our guests.

Requirements

  • One year food service experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and hotel service standards.
  • General knowledge of wine, beer, liquors, and drinks served.
  • Ability to serve guests through verbal face-to-face interactions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Helps guests select food and beverages by presenting menu and offering suggestions.
  • Enters orders to POS system and records guests' choices and special requests.
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
  • Processes guest payment transactions accurately and balances all payment methods.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas and keeps area stocked.
  • Prepares room for dining by setting tables and decorations.
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
  • Completes side work before, during, and after shifts.
  • Provides guests with a high-level dining experience while maintaining professionalism.
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions and resolves guest complaints.
