About The Position

At Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, the function of the Staff Pharmacist is to distribute and control all pharmaceuticals used by the facility and to provide information about drugs to the institution's staff and patients. Duties of a Staff Pharmacist may include but are not limited to the following: This function includes a program of Quality Improvement designed to monitor and assure the quality of drug use. The function of the Staff Pharmacist is to ensure the safe and appropriate distribution and use of pharmaceuticals throughout the facility and to provide information about medications to the institutions staff and patients. This function includes a program of Performance Improvement designed to monitor and assure the safe use of medications throughout the facility.

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree.
• New York State Pharmacy License - Current NY State Pharmacist Registration.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital Pharmacy experience.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems and sterile compounding, including cytotoxic and other hazardous agents.
