About The Position

The Personal Care Provider at Talem Home Care plays a crucial role in delivering unskilled personal care and household services to clients in their homes. Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills for positive interaction with clients, families, and staff.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control.
• Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace.
• Knowledge of personal care principles and safety practices in home care.
• Understanding of family interactions and the aging process.
• Beginning knowledge of nutrition and food service.
• Ability to accurately observe, report, and record client care and condition.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid, current driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Completion of a twenty-hour training program or skills validation via direct observation.
• Six months or more personal care experience in a home care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and maintains home environment to ensure the safety and security of the client.
• Assists with household chores including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
• Assists in completing activities such as shopping and appointments outside the home.
• Provides companionship including social interaction, conversation, and emotional reassurance.
• Encourages reading, writing, and mind-stimulating activities.
• Performs or assists the client with personal hygiene, including bathing, hair care, mouth care, and dressing.
• Maintains timely service records of home visits.
• Attends and participates in appropriate client care conferences, staff and education meetings, and agency committee meetings.
