About The Position

The Special Education Paraprofessional works one-on-one with students receiving special education support. Assignment Information Part-Time Up to 29 Hours/Week Monday - Friday (when instruction is in session) $15.50/Hour - Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement Assignment Functions and Responsibilities The job is not limited to any or all of the following functions and responsibilities: 1:1 Student Support Lunch Supervision Access to Support Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Highly Qualified (HQ) Status
  • Completed minimum of 60 college credits -or- Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or- ETS ParaPro Assessment Qualifying score of 460+
  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Dependable Attendance
  • Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
  • Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
  • Basic understanding of technology
  • Ability to assist with personal care needs
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
  • Some lifting may be required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certified (willing to be provided training)
