About The Position

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. has an immediate need for a Safety Specialist to support general industry and construction safety projects on a part-time, on-call basis in Wilson, North Carolina or the Greater Raleigh area. This role is well suited for a motivated safety professional seeking flexible work, with the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent position based on performance, business needs, and mutual interest. This position will work closely with clients and internal teams to support safety compliance efforts across a variety of active industrial and construction environments.

Requirements

A clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Reliable and able to represent Loureiro professionally at client sites
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial safety, construction safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to general industry and construction
Experience in manufacturing and/or construction safety environments
Ability to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis
Flexible availability to support projects on an on-call basis
Strong commitment to producing high-quality work
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) preferred

Responsibilities

Provide on-site and off-site general safety and OSHA compliance support for construction and general industry clients.
Conduct safety inspections, jobsite audits, and hazard assessments.
Assist clients with the implementation and maintenance of OSHA-required programs, including:
Hazard Communication
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Machine Guarding
Fall Protection
Confined Spaces
Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
Support incident investigations and assist with corrective action development.
Prepare written reports, findings, and recommendations.
Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and internal project team members.
Support project managers as needed on assigned projects.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Loureiro policies, procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
