About The Position

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. has an immediate need for a Safety Specialist to support general industry and construction safety projects on a part-time, on-call basis in Wilson, North Carolina or the Greater Raleigh area. This role is well suited for a motivated safety professional seeking flexible work, with the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent position based on performance, business needs, and mutual interest. This position will work closely with clients and internal teams to support safety compliance efforts across a variety of active industrial and construction environments.

  • A clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Reliable and able to represent Loureiro professionally at client sites
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial safety, construction safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to general industry and construction
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or construction safety environments
  • Ability to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis
  • Flexible availability to support projects on an on-call basis
  • Strong commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and off-site general safety and OSHA compliance support for construction and general industry clients.
  • Conduct safety inspections, jobsite audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Assist clients with the implementation and maintenance of OSHA-required programs, including:
  • Hazard Communication
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Machine Guarding
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Spaces
  • Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Support incident investigations and assist with corrective action development.
  • Prepare written reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and internal project team members.
  • Support project managers as needed on assigned projects.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Loureiro policies, procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
