About The Position

Langan is seeking a Part-Time On-Call Environmental Field Technician to join its collaborative team in Miami, FL. This individual will serve a key function in assisting in environmental field work with a focus on installation, operations and maintenance of remedial or gas collection systems, and collecting field data and samples. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of environmental, site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Hazwoper Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual Hazwoper 8 hr. re-certification, as required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years' prior related experience preferred
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with on-site client representatives or operators
  • Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
  • Ability to work well individually and within groups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the workday on-site, as-required

Responsibilities

  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain environmental remediation equipment, including vacuum blowers, air compressors, transfer pumps, flowmeters, and filters
  • Operate precision measuring instruments along with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Oversee and document work performed by trade contractors across excavation, construction, remediation, and waste disposal activities
  • Assist with plumbing repairs and construction tasks in alignment with project needs
  • Handle installation and maintenance of groundwater wells, piping systems, and electrically powered pumps or machinery
  • Assemble, inspect, and maintain field systems and equipment, including troubleshooting as required
  • Collect water samples from monitoring wells, surface water, industrial wastewater systems, or other source for pollution assessment
  • Collecting air samples from remediation or gas management systems, or sub-slab gas samples
  • Maintaining equipment calibration logs
  • Produce timely and detailed field reports
  • Perform other duties as requested
