Job Summary Langan is seeking an Part-Time On-Call Environmental Field Technician to join its collaborative team in Miami, FL. This individual will serve a key function in assisting in environmental field work with a focus on installation, operations and maintenance of remedial or gas collection systems, and collecting field data and samples. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of environmental, site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Hazwoper Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual Hazwoper 8 hr. re-certification, as required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Ability to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the workday on-site, as-required

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred
5+ years’ prior related experience preferred
Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with on-site client representatives or operators
Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
Ability to work well individually and within groups
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain environmental remediation equipment, including vacuum blowers, air compressors, transfer pumps, flowmeters, and filters
Operate precision measuring instruments along with a variety of hand and power tools
Oversee and document work performed by trade contractors across excavation, construction, remediation, and waste disposal activities
Assist with plumbing repairs and construction tasks in alignment with project needs
Handle installation and maintenance of groundwater wells, piping systems, and electrically powered pumps or machinery
Assemble, inspect, and maintain field systems and equipment, including troubleshooting as required
Collect water samples from monitoring wells, surface water, industrial wastewater systems, or other source for pollution assessment
Collecting air samples from remediation or gas management systems, or sub-slab gas samples
Maintaining equipment calibration logs
Produce timely and detailed field reports
Perform other duties as requested
