About the position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on providing competent clinical care. The RN is expected to possess knowledge and skills that meet the standards for professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The role requires experience and expertise in a specialty area, functioning effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. The practice is characterized by interdependent decision-making, focusing on problem-solving and patient-centered care. The RN must be capable of managing unexpected or emergency situations commonly encountered in the assigned specialty population and serve as a resource for Nurse Clinicians I or II. The RN will provide patient care based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, while also valuing the strategic initiatives and goals of the specialty unit, nursing, and the health system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care through nursing practices based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice.
  • Function as a competent clinician with knowledge and skills in the specialty area.
  • Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Manage unexpected or emergency situations in the clinical unit.
  • Serve as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II.
  • Support institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with two years of clinical RN experience.
  • Possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
