This is a Part Time Position with the typical schedule being Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00PM - 7:00AM. BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for all reception desk functions necessary to ensure the service and safety of all residents and employees in the facility. All responsibilities are to be done in a professional, courteous and conscientious manner. Position is a key and highly visible one in the St. Paul's safety and security process.

Requirements

  • Position requires a high school diploma or its equivalency.
  • Must have and maintain a current CPR certification.
  • YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CLEAR FINGERPRINTS THROUGH DOJ AND FBI IN ADDITION TO A DRUG SCREEN CLEARANCE.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors all security doors and gates leading into facility. Maintain security of building at all times.
  • Interacts with, receives and implements security instructions from the Facilities Manager.
  • Understands fully all emergency and security alarm systems, all intercom systems and telephone systems. Attends all training, where required, of all emergency alarm and communication systems. Where appropriate and requested, coordinates training of other staff on emergency alarms and communications systems. May be required to provide emergency support at other St. Paul’s facilities.
  • Understands fully and utilizes, as required, all emergency telephone, pager and disaster contact lists, policies and procedures.
  • Processes requests made by residents for service, repairs, food trays, and emergency help.
  • Performs employee security checks at the end of all shifts. Admits employees into facility only where employee is active, reporting to work and where they have not been denied access to St. Paul's.
  • Ensures that all visitors entering the facility have a valid reason for admission, that they have properly and completely identified themselves, have completed the visitor log, have been issued a visitor pass, and have been announced to the appropriate department or resident.
  • Coordinates and notifies all residents and staff of deliveries.
  • Ensures all pass and work keys are signed in and out properly and locked in the key box when not in use.
  • Follows fully and completely all procedures for following up on absent residents from meal, door and housekeeping checks.
  • Ensures full and legible documentation of all appropriate entries into Log Books.
  • Provides clerical/office assistance to other departments and other duties as may be assigned by supervisor, facility General Manager or CEO
  • Handles cash, receives payments and processes cash and checks for the accounting department.
  • Safeguards and issues facility Credit Cards, ensures credit cards are returned the same day with evidence of expenditure and receipt. Reports discrepancies to supervisor immediately.
  • Demonstrate ability to redirect Memory Care participants or disoriented residents in order to prevent the possibility of bodily harm or elopement.
  • Demonstrates competency in all aspects of elopement system.
  • Participates in monthly elopement drills successfully.
  • Complete required dementia training.
  • Report any problems/concerns with security immediately to General Manager or Nursing Supervisor.
