About The Position

The position involves editing stories, videos, and newscasts under tight deadlines while maintaining news archives and operating electronic newsgathering equipment. The role requires nonlinear editing using software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Edius for various newscast elements including PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases, and preproduction material. Collaboration with producers, reporters, and managers is essential to produce high-quality stories, ensuring the storage and organization of media files, and maintaining standards for all edited material. Additional responsibilities include taking in ENG and SNG feeds and any other editing tasks assigned by news managers.

Requirements

• Knowledge of nonlinear editing software
• Proficiency editing with Adobe Premiere
• Can handle and juggle multiple editing assignments under strict deadlines
• Knowledge of current video production techniques
• Familiarity with mass communications law and media responsibilities
• Record multiple feeds on a digital encoding system
• Search for source materials from multiple outlets and platforms
• Related military experience will be considered
