Part-time Nanny in La Canada Flintridge for a 4-year-old
About The Position
A bit about us: We are an open-minded, kind, sports-loving family of 4, including our Labradoodle. We are an LGBTQI+ friendly family, and we welcome diversity and inclusion. We have demanding jobs, so reliability and quality care are key! We love to travel and are very family-focused. I work from home in a detached office, and my wife works outside the home. Our dog LOVES people and will be your new best friend! Our 4-year-old son is very caring, active, and physically adept! He likes dinosaur songs, playing make-believe, and Octonauts. He loves to be outdoors running around! In August, he’ll start transitional kindergarten so we are focused on his expressive language and potty training. A bit about you: You are an engaging, proactive nanny and a self-proclaimed “morning person”. You are someone who would rather be early than risk being late. You are a lover of language, staying curious, early learning, activities, and fun! You are a nanny who can talk things through and set boundaries in a patient and understanding way. You’re always on top of safety and have strong communication skills with children and adults. You enjoy being helpful and providing stability, organization, and nurturing (screen-free) care.
Requirements
- 5 years of childcare experience
- Strong references
- Previous potty training experience
- Clear communication skills
- A valid Driver’s license
- A clean driving record
- A genuine love for children
- Fluent in English
Nice To Haves
- You have experience teaching preschool, transitional kindergarten, or kindergarten students.
- You are flexible and often able to work additional hours when requested.
Responsibilities
- Assist our son with his morning routine, including brushing his teeth and any other personal hygiene tasks, including potty training
- Help him get dressed for school
- Prepare a healthy breakfast
- Encourage expressive language through play and reading
- Make/pack his lunch for school
- Drive or walk him to school
- Grocery shopping
- Unpacking and maintaining a list of needed items
- General tidying and light housekeeping
- Kitchen clean-up from breakfast, including washing dishes, counters and dining areas
- Laundry
- A 15-20 min dog walk with Luna
