About The Position
A bit about us: We are a warm, busy, and welcoming family of four living on Mercer Island, with two school-aged children. Our kids are active, social, and enjoy a balance of structured activities like swimming and sports, along with creative play, reading, and time with neighborhood friends. We value a calm, organized household and strive to create an environment where our children feel supported while building independence and confidence. Both parents work from home in separate spaces, and we maintain a collaborative, respectful dynamic with our nanny. We are looking for a long-term addition to our family who will become a trusted and steady presence in our children’s lives. A bit about you: You are an experienced and confident caregiver who enjoys working with school-aged children and guiding them toward independence. You communicate clearly and kindly, and you feel comfortable setting boundaries while maintaining a positive and respectful approach. You genuinely enjoy cooking and take pride in preparing healthy meals for children. You are organized, proactive, and capable of balancing childcare with light household support. You bring a calm, dependable energy to your work and enjoy helping children build life skills, responsibility, and confidence in their daily routines.
Requirements
- Experience caring for elementary-aged children
- Strong, clear communicator with a coaching-oriented mindset
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Comfortable preparing meals regularly and enjoys cooking
- Organized, dependable, and proactive
- Able to balance childcare with light household responsibilities
- Calm, confident, and respectful approach to discipline and boundaries

Responsibilities
- School pickups
- Safely transporting the children to and from activities
- Supporting homework, routines, and transitions throughout the evening
- Prepare healthy snacks
- Cook simple and nutritious dinners
- Pack school lunches while encouraging positive eating habits
- Assist with light household tasks such as children’s laundry, tidying shared spaces, organizing children’s areas, and maintaining household flow
- Coaching the children to participate in age-appropriate responsibilities, helping them develop independence and life skills
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding schedules, activities, and any updates
