About The Position

The part-time faculty position at NWTC involves teaching motorcycle safety courses, focusing on basic motorcycle training. The role requires planning, preparing, and delivering instruction while fostering student success and maintaining accurate student records. The instructor will also provide mentorship and support to students, ensuring they achieve their learning and career goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma.
  • Experienced and proficient in operating Class M vehicles.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.
  • Knowledge of motorcycles preferred.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies to foster student success.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communication.
  • Advise and support students as a mentor and role model.
  • Provide educational leadership and collaborate with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
  • Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and necessary licensure for accreditation.
  • Comply with College policies related to instruction and assessment.
  • Assist with moving motorcycles and training aids as needed.
  • Prepare materials and set up the motorcycle course.
  • Maintain positive rapport with the public and promote motorcycle safety.
  • Stay current with First Aid training and CPR certification.
  • Maintain certification as a RiderCoach with the Wisconsin Motorcycle Safety Program and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
  • Design and implement effective learning strategies and environments.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Attend School, program, and advisory committee meetings.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
