About The Position

Foundation 2 Crisis Services is a mission-driven, non-profit organization that provides critical crisis intervention and prevention services across Iowa. We operate a 24/7 crisis center, including phone, text, and chat services. We also operate an emergency youth shelter, mental health support groups, community-based crisis programs, training, and more. We have been saving lives for over 50 years. Join our team today! This part-time role provides in-person crisis intervention services to individuals and families of all ages throughout Cedar, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott counties. Counselors are required to complete necessary documentation and maintain client files in accordance with program policies and timelines. Mobile Crisis Outreach (MCO) counselors offer compassionate, objective, client-centered counseling and assist individuals and families with connections to local resources and community providers. Counselors are expected to participate in regularly scheduled conferences, trainings, and team meetings. Applicants must be willing to consistently sign up for a minimum of two 6-hour shifts in a week, with shifts available during days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. The role is crucial as it directly impacts the lives of individuals in crisis, providing them with the support and resources they need to navigate their challenges. Counselors earn a competitive hourly rate, with additional compensation for on-call hours and holiday work.
