As a Part-Time Microbiology Lab Support professional, you will help ensure smooth daily operations across multiple labs by maintaining equipment records, supporting routine lab processes, and upholding high standards of quality and compliance. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and interested in contributing to a scientific setting in a hands-on capacity. Key Responsibilities Maintain daily laboratory operations, including equipment recordkeeping (e.g., temperature logs, pH and balance calibration records) and coordination of preventive maintenance tasks. Perform glassware washing and autoclave waste processing in accordance with established laboratory safety and operational procedures. Prepare non-routine reagents and media as directed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to lab protocols. Conduct routine cleaning and basic upkeep of multiple microbiology laboratories within a single building to support a safe and orderly work environment. Manage laboratory supplies by stocking and tracking routine consumables, helping to ensure staff have consistent access to needed materials. Support compliance and operational quality through microbiological environmental monitoring, chemical list reviews, and equipment verification activities. Job Requirements Prior experience in a laboratory, scientific support, or similar technical environment preferred. Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices, including handling of biological and chemical materials. Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete logs, records, and standardized procedures. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for portions of the shift, and safely handle lab equipment and materials, with or without reasonable accommodation. Effective time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with lab staff. Clear written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions, document activities, and report issues promptly.
