About The Position

The Part Time Medical Director at BayMark Health Services is responsible for overseeing the admission and treatment of patients in addiction medicine, specifically focusing on methadone and buprenorphine treatments. This role involves direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality treatment and support for individuals dealing with opioid use disorder.

Requirements

• Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine.
• At least 6 months of Addiction Medicine experience.
• At least 6 months of Primary Care experience.
• Must be a Medicaid/Medicare provider.
• Must be licensed in the state of Maine.

Responsibilities

• Admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment.
• Obtaining a history and physical exam for patients.
• Documenting patient information into the EMR and entering orders for methadone dosing or writing buprenorphine prescriptions.
• Monitoring patient dosages in conjunction with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors, and Dosing Nurses.
• Consulting on high-risk patients and conducting annual medication reviews.
• Performing other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
