About The Position

The Part-Time Media & Events Coordinator will support the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at NJIT by planning and executing events for the Spring 2025 semester and initiating plans for the Fall 2025 semester. This role involves organizing, scheduling, and programming activities to enhance student engagement and promote campus spirit.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience with event planning and social media.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate equivalent education and experience as per university discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Planning large scale programs/events, including calling vendors and booking spaces in preparation for events.
  • Assisting with the planning of Homecoming 2025, Spring Involvement Fair, NJIT LEADS Conference, and Highlander Awards.
  • Adding creativity and input to annual programs.
  • Developing new student staff members for the Office for Student Involvement and Leadership.
  • Managing guidelines and handbook information for clubs or organizations.
  • Marketing for new and returning students through social media.
  • Brainstorming and implementing new ideas, trends, and school-spirited videos to connect students to the office.
  • Taking pictures and videos for events and programs around campus.
  • Building rapport with clubs and organizations to help promote their groups.
  • Featuring clubs and organizations through social media posts.
  • Establishing a new video series to interview students about their experiences at NJIT.
  • Creating a social media calendar to enhance the office's presence on campus.
  • Collaborating with other departments and student organizations on programs/events.
  • Working closely with Fraternity and Sorority Life.
  • Creating flyers and designs for university-wide events and programs.
  • Collaborating with various organizations and departments for marketing tools and resources.
  • Understanding administrative processes with the Office for Student Involvement and Leadership.
  • Creating and developing the department newsletter and sending it out biweekly.
