About The Position

The City of Derby is seeking a part-time Marketing & Events Specialist to enhance community engagement and promote the city as a tourist destination. This role involves coordinating events, managing social media, and developing marketing strategies to improve the city's image and attract visitors.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Third Thursday events, including vendor and artist recruitment and management, business partnerships and sponsorships.
• Assist with event website and social media management for Third Thursday.
• Assist in the development of strategies to market the City as a tourist destination.
• Facilitate, schedule meetings, and professional development training for the Derby Tourism Coalition.
• Act as liaison between the City and local attractions.
• Plan and assist with the execution of marketing plans for City events.
• Assist with graphic design and photography for city events and tourism.
• Assist in planning and developing strategies to enhance the City's image and community engagement efforts.
