The Maker-in-Residence program seeks motivated undergraduate students interested in 3D printing and rapid prototyping for peer to peer consulting in the Maker Commons at the Pattee Library. Operated by Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), the Maker Commons provides access to and training for students, faculty, and staff using 3D printers, introductory 3D modeling, 3D scanning, as well as rapid prototyping using littleBits, Arduino, Robotics, Cricut Maker, Sewing, E-textiles, and Dye Sublimation. Successful Makers-in-Residence will harvest and maintain 3D printers, provide 1-on-1 consultations for students learning to use 3D printers, demonstrate creative uses of the technology, and act as ambassadors for the use of innovative new maker technologies in education.
