Incumbent serves as General Maintenance for the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department, responsible for enforcing Park policy and performing general upkeep and maintenance of County parks, facilities and grounds. Examples of Duties Applies mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and construction techniques to projects and repairs, including, but not limited to, small equipment, pumps, receptacles, switches, circuit breakers, lights, faucet, and pipe leaks, toilets, water heaters and elements, small buildings constructions, log cabin, log hewing, signage, bridges, roofs, doors and windows, cabinets, tables, welding, painting, and concrete work. Contributes to general park maintenance, such as cleaning shelters, restroom and shops and trash pick-up and removal. Maintains roofs and gutters, and performs preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment and tools. Operates various equipment/machinery in performance of duties, including, but not limited to, wood splitter, utility vehicles, dump truck, and pick-up truck. Operates various hand and/or power tools in performance of duties, including, but not limited to, hammer, screw drivers, wrenches, drills, driver, ratchet, mop, broom, leaf blower, weed eater, and mower. Maintains assigned grounds, including mowing, trimming, weed eating, planting, pruning, mulching, spraying, brush and tree removal, and lake maintenance. Provides Park security, including, but not limited to, enforcing park rules and regulations. Participates in special events as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
