About The Position

Part-Time Maintenance Technician Responsible for preserving the good condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel premises. This role performs general maintenance duties that include painting, HVAC installations, landscaping, and repairs, while supporting the safety and security of the hotel and its guests. The Part-Time Maintenance Technician coordinates and performs routine, preventive, and emergency interior and exterior maintenance and repairs to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role may assist with oversight of maintenance operations in the absence of the department leader. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. There is potential for full-time employment once the individual is fully ramped up and based on performance, availability, and business needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and manual dexterity
  • Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to perform manual labor and a willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a related field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and HVAC.
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs to hotel rooms, equipment, and systems including laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms, power failures, disasters, or other incidents; notify appropriate authorities and leadership as required.
  • Support emergency programs by ensuring equipment is maintained, inspections and drills are completed, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations is maintained.
  • Make routine rounds of the hotel property to ensure all areas and systems are in proper working order.
  • Actively participate in applicable energy conservation programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and appropriate chemical levels of pools and hot tubs.
  • Clean and maintain all maintenance equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain shift logs to ensure proper communication between team members.
  • Document all parts used and identify parts needed for purchase.
  • Handle elevator breakdowns if applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and Service Request Program.
  • Complete work order request forms daily and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with special projects and renovations as needed.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately to leadership.
  • Set up machines and create signage, name tags, and basic shop materials as needed.
  • Assist with parking lot maintenance, snow removal, and exterior upkeep.
  • Run errands as needed to pick up or deliver supplies, equipment, or furnishings using a personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
  • Provide assistance to other departments to support overall hotel operations.
  • Provide training and support to new property-level maintenance or support team members as requested.
  • May assume limited oversight or leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.
