About The Position

Bowles Rice LLP, a well-established regional, full-service law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, is seeking to retain a part-time attorney in its Martinsburg, West Virginia office to assist with its litigation practice. This position will work on court-appointed cases covering criminal defense, abuse and neglect proceedings, and juvenile delinquency/juvenile status offense cases. The work will include all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to written discovery, interviewing witnesses, drafting motions and briefs, taking and defending depositions, and developing overall case strategy. This position offers a flexible schedule with remote work opportunities, but candidates must be able to attend court hearings in and around the Martinsburg, West Virginia area.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Licensed to practice in West Virginia
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to travel to Martinsburg as needed
• Must pass all required background screening, including criminal
