The Licensed Optician at LensCrafters plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality eyewear. This part-time position involves engaging with customers, fitting glasses, and ensuring that their vision needs are met with precision and care. The role emphasizes the importance of optical knowledge, customer satisfaction, and maintaining store standards.
Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations with them.
- Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail.
- Ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Utilize technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume.
- Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and use appropriate tools.
- Proactively explore root causes of issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Maintain store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Be resourceful and self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- State Licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills - ability to use and carry an iPAD/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
