About The Position

The Music Department, College of Liberal Arts, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring Quarters for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning September 11, 2025. Classes to be taught may include one-unit to two-unit activity classes in guitar, voice, and piano; large and small vocal and instrumental ensembles; private instruction in all orchestral and band instruments, piano, and voice; and lecture classes in music theory, music appreciation, music technology, and music history (all of its genres). Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Music or extensive professional performing experience in music for activity courses and private instruction.
• Master's Degree in Music for lecture classes.

Responsibilities
