About The Position

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Cal Poly invites applications for possible temporary part-time position(s) available as determined by need for the 2025-26 academic year. Teaching assignments will be in fundamental or advanced mechanical engineering courses. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field is required.
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
• Ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Nice To Haves

• A graduate degree is preferred.
• Teaching and/or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
