The position involves both studio and ensemble instruction, including classical, world music, and jazz, as well as collaborative piano and accompanying ensembles or students. Classroom instruction will cover a variety of subjects such as music theory, music history, music technology, sight-singing, class piano, and basic instruction in brass, strings, woodwinds, voice, percussion, and general music appreciation. All instructional assignments require office hours in accordance with the University Office Hour Policy. Teaching assignments may occur at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online, and all faculty members are expected to perform their duties within the state of California.
