About The Position

The Finance Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is creating a pool of eligible part-time finance lecturers for possible teaching assignments during the summer, fall, winter, and/or spring quarters of the 2025-2026 academic year in the following teaching areas: investments, real estate finance, fixed income securities, corporate finance, and international financial management. Assignments will be contingent upon budget and enrollments. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677; Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224; Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523; Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in business or related discipline required.
• Must demonstrate a strong teaching record and currency in professional field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
