About The Position

The Food Science and Nutrition Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to precept dietetic interns during their clinical rotations at a partner hospital. This position requires working closely with the dietetic internship administrative team and local hospital staff to plan and implement competency-based experiences and assignments to meet the Standards for Dietetic Internships as set forth by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Positions available as determined by need during the 2025-26 academic year. Teaching assignments could include FSN 551, 552, and 553, Medical Nutrition Therapy Practicum I, II, and III, respectively.

Requirements

• An earned bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience OR an earned master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or closely related field, and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
• RD/RDN credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and maintain credential during appointment.
• Demonstrated commitment to and evidence of quality, student-centered learning, precepting, or teaching.
• Ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.
