About The Position
The School of Music & Dance at Eastern Michigan University is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer in Music Composition to teach the course MUSC 416/517 Compositional Techniques. This course is designed for group instruction in music composition and is scheduled to take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM. The appointment is part-time and will commence in the Fall 2024 semester, starting on August 26, 2024. This position is classified as an adjunct lecturer and is salaried only, with no additional benefits provided. As a Part-Time Lecturer, the individual will be responsible for a variety of teaching-related duties. These include meeting with students both during and outside of assigned class times to provide guidance and support, assessing student work and performance, and preparing syllabi and course materials. The lecturer will also be required to provide copies of these materials to their supervisor upon request and to assign and submit grades in accordance with the established schedules of Eastern Michigan University. Additionally, the lecturer may be expected to perform related departmental duties as required, contributing to the overall academic environment of the School of Music & Dance.
