About The Position

The University of Chicago is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer in French and Francophone Studies for the 2023-24 academic year. This role involves teaching various undergraduate literature courses in French, contributing to the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures. The position is contingent upon budgetary approval and is not benefits eligible.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in French or a related field.
  • Superior proficiency in French according to ACTFL guidelines.
  • At least one year of experience teaching French language and/or literature at the college or post-secondary level.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently completing a Ph.D. in French or a related field.
  • Completed Ph.D. in French or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and teaching seminar-style undergraduate literature courses in French.
  • Holding regularly scheduled office hours for student support.
  • Preparing and grading assignments and assessments.
