About The Position

The Department of Counseling at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) occasionally has the need to hire non-tenure track, part-time Lecturers to teach in its Masters of Counseling program for the academic year 2025-2026. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction within the program. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Years of experience in the area of course content.
  • Meet SACSCOS primary or alternate qualifications (e.g., licensure and/or school counseling certification, 5 years of experience in course content) to teach certain counseling courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Teaching and practical experience in the area of course content is desirable.
  • Ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and/or Certified School Counselor is preferred but required for certain counseling courses.

  • Delivering quality instruction within the Masters of Counseling program.
