About The Position

Are you looking to put your technology skills to work making extra money in between classes? If you answer yes, we have the perfect paid internship for you! We're looking for a Part-Time Junior Programmer to help our software development team. You'll collaborate with other developers and engineers to design computer applications and programs. We are looking for applicants familiar with Java and/or PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other common programming languages. You should also be comfortable using common frameworks to develop software for various platforms. This is a paid internship with flexible hours between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. During the semester you'll average 15 hours a week, and during summer and other breaks, you'll average up to 30 hours a week. You'll have the opportunity to work hands-on and become more familiar with different languages, working with internal/external customers to determine needs, designing, developing, and running web UI for multi-tiered web applications using the full stack of Linux/Apache/MySQL, following programming standards, and meeting goals assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a senior in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program.
  • Familiarity with PHP or Java, CSS/HTML/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS.
  • Knowledge of web standards and modern browsers, responsive design, and use of the full web technology stack.
  • Experience with REST/JSON APIs, Linux server administration, and understanding of the development cycle using Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Some type of programming experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Design skills are a plus but not a requirement.
  • Ability to work within a team or individual environment.
