About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial location. While previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory. Please be aware that applicants must successfully complete a background check. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential. Requirements

  • Must pass background check
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must have good public relations skills and communication
  • Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, press, pull, carry a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down stairway, use of elevator, use a ladder climb up and down and stand throughout their shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous janitorial, custodian, housekeeping experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cleanliness of shared areas within the commercial space.
  • Effective communication skills and a good understanding of English.
  • Carry out tasks such as sweeping, dusting, emptying trash into designated areas, replacing trash bag liners, and cleaning up spills.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Wipe down all tables and chairs.
  • Operate a leaf blower machine.
  • Utilize a power washing machine.
  • Demonstrate the ability to stand, bend, and walk the duration of shift.
  • Lift and push trash bins as necessary.
  • Notify the supervisor if any machines, light bulbs, or specific items are malfunctioning on the property.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or property manager.
