Position: Part-Time Janitor Second Shift: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Ridge Ranch Elementary School Effective Dates: 2025-2026 school year Employment Terms: Part-time position No medical benefits At-will position; not associated with any collective bargaining association Report To: Principal and/or Head Custodian Building/Supervisor/Manager/Director Job Goal: To provide students, teachers, staff, and community members with a safe, clean, disinfected classroom and school conducive to the learning-development-playing environment. Qualifications: Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, walk, carry and lift for eight hours per day including overtime. Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. Must have a current valid New Jersey driver's license. Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform required tasks. Ability to use minor tools including drill to fasten and remove screws and assemble furniture. Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work. Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities. Possess a Black Seal Fireman's License for Low Pressure boiler operation (preferred) Must obtain the Low-Pressure Black Seal License within two years of employment. Ability to be on call, after hours for emergency assistance to the building/school if needed Must be able to perform snow & ice removal with shovel, ice scrapers & walkway snow blowers. Must be able to speak, write and comprehend English. Must be able during the summer adjust work shift to perform summer cleaning on 1st shift Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Capable of climbing various size ladders & climbing wall mounted roof hatch ladders. Must have at least 3-5 years past experience in cleaning at a school facility environment or commercial.
