A nurse practitioner, emergency medical technician, phlebotomist, or person with training and practice inserting IV catheters is sought to support projects in the lab of Dr. DiFeliceantonio at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech Carilion in Roanoke, Virginia. This position is flexible and would involve scheduling on an hourly basis for IV placement. Projects in the lab are multidisciplinary, combining techniques and methodologies from neuroscience, nutrition, metabolism, and psychology. The overarching goal of the lab is to understand the metabolic and neural mechanisms of food choice and specifically how modern ultra-processed foods hijack these systems. This is an excellent position for someone interested in research with a low time commitment.
