About The Position

The Part-time Audio/Visual (AV) Technician at Houston Ballet is responsible for operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment for rehearsals and events. This role involves daily maintenance of AV systems, assisting the IT team, and ensuring quality control in various settings within the center for dance building. The position requires collaboration with staff and participation in special events outside regular hours.

Requirements

• Experience with iPad of all generations
• Proficiency in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zoom, and video casting
• Familiarity with Biamp speakers, subwoofers, and audio amplifiers
• Experience with Tesira Forte Audio DSP
• Knowledge of Sony 4K displays and screen projectors
• Experience with Mersive Solstice Pod and Click2 Atem devices
• Familiarity with Crestron touch panel, RMC4 room controller, and DM Lite Transmitter
• Experience with Shure SLX-D wireless microphone system
• Knowledge of Cat6 cabling
• Experience with NUC PC and office products

Responsibilities

• Daily check-in with IT team
• Set up audiovisual equipment
• Daily maintenance of company and Academy studios
• Daily maintenance of conference rooms and Dance Lab
• Daily maintenance of lobby and other displays in the building
• Assist IT team with scheduling service
• Support IT with live streaming for events
• Communicate about current technology
• Participate in training and documentation meetings
• Check and test connectivity in studios, Dance Lab, and conference rooms
• Resolve IT/AV tickets
• Provide other AV/Audio support as needed
