About The Position

Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Part-Time Interpreter to be part of our Pharmacy Team. Newly hired Part-Time Interpreters are eligible for a $250.00 sign on bonus after 90 days of employment. The position offers an entry-level pay of $19.20 hourly, with opportunities for salary and career advancement available.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year prior interpreting service experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish, both written and oral communication
• Interpreting/Translating Certifications preferred - Opportunity to obtain National Medical Interpreter Certification if not currently certified
• Familiarity with utilizing Microsoft office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with utilizing multi-line phone systems, copier, scanner, fax and other office equipment
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Interprets for pharmacy staff and patients
• Supports pharmacy services in a variety of ways
• Interprets from English to Spanish, vice versa
• Maintains current knowledge base of medical, dental and behavioral health terminology
• Completes annual certification
• Follows guidelines for accurate interpreting of information
• Receives and answers calls from patients
• Assists patients relaying messages/information to the pharmacy team
• Follows proper guidelines to communicate information to patients in a compliant manner (HIPAA, etc.)
• Willingness to support pharmacy delivery services - calls, texts, driving to deliver prescriptions
